O2 U.K. Getting The White Samsung Galaxy S II In September As Well

So we know that the U.K. will be getting a white version of the Galaxy S II starting September 1st and that three.co.uk has already confirmed their participation in this much sought after white device. Well, O2 also seems to be in on the white SGSII hype machine. There are no specifics on pricing or when exactly it will be available, but our guess is the phone will be free with a two year contract....

Compiz-based Unity coming to PPA tomorrow

And so it begins! The Compiz-backed version of Unity – to be the default Ubuntu 11.04 desktop – has arrived on Launchpad.
For those with itchy fingers and brave hearts ‘Unity Compiz’ (‘Compinity’ anyone?) will be available for installation via a PPA tomorrow according to Ubuntu Desktop Experience lead njpatel.

StudioPress releases the Venture business theme

StudioPress have announced the release of the Venture 1.0 child theme for the Genesis Framework. The theme was created by Roderick Sauskojus, who also created the Lexicon child theme.

Firefox 4 Beta 7 – how it should look on Linux

Yesterday we mentioned that Firefox 4 Beta for Linux now boasts a ‘menu’ button rather than a menu bar. Whilst it’s undoubtedly welcome it doesn’t look as good as it could – nor should.

November 7th saw Ubuntu computer company ’System76′ reach its five year birthday.
Whilst I’ve not purchased a System76 machine personally I know many people who have – and they cannot speak highly enough of the quality, service and pride in purchasing a machine so supportive of Ubuntu.
So, although here in the UK i’m a day late, I just wanted to say congratulations, guys!

RoloPress contact management theme version 1.5 released

RoloPress is a theme built by SlipFire and developer Sudar Muthu that, after it is activated, allows you to run your own contact manager by adding or importing your contacts and companies, and then customize it with your own child theme.
The most recent release, version 1.5, enables importing from Outlook CSV and Google Maps for any addresses added to contacts in RoloPress.

Pete must have felt quite brave when he purchased the woman’s leg, some stockings and a pair of high heels. I guess you could just say you are going as a woman to a Halloween party?
