Daily Tip: Get BuddyPress Verified Accounts for High Profile Users

November 8, 2010 by: Youzhny

A new plugin for BuddyPress is out that allows admins to mark a user as having a verified account. It works in a similar way to Twitter’s Verified Accounts:

Any account with a Verified Badge is a Verified Account. Twitter uses this to establish authenticity of well known accounts so users can trust that a legitimate source is authoring their Tweets

The Verified Accounts plugin is especially useful if you’re creating a community for a high profile individual or organization, or even a business directory. The plugin’s developer is going to be extending it to include promoted activity stream updates in the future.
